Just wanted to say thanks to all who reccommended this company as a supplier of tooth bars. I just ordered one to fit the bucket on my 402 FEL, and after much frustration with my dealer, it was a pleasure doing business with the folks at Markham.

When I ordered my tractor, I also ordered and paid for a tooth bar to be installed. When the B7800 arrived at my home, it did not have the tooth bar, and I was told by the driver that the dealership did not have the right size but it was being ordered. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Would have been nice to have had a call from the dealership before the tractor arrived, but I figured I had to expect a few bumps. After being told that it would be arriving "any day now" three or four times, I finally went to pick it up this last Saturday. STILL didn't order the right size!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I got my money back and figured I'd try somewhere else.

Called Markham today, they said they would build it and SHIP IT today, and that I'll have it tomorrow!! To top it all off, even with paying the freight, I'll still save over $125.00 from the dealer cost. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Short of opening the box tomorrow and finding 60 lbs of zerks, or something this will be the most efficient, pleasant and trouble free attachment purchase I've made yet!

I'll post a few pics when I get it installed.

BTW, drill or cut?? Do I gain anything by mounting it one way or the other? I can drill it and mount it myself, or have a friend cut the hole for me with a torch, but I won't be able to do the cutting until the weekend. If it's best to cut, I'll wait but it won't be easy!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just my two cents but I'd drill. Cutting may weaken the metal and result in cracks later on. Also, Drilling will get just the right size, obviously... and you don't have to deal with the slop.

You can get a metal cutting hole saw at Lowes, Home Depo etc. for not too much $$$. I'm guessing $15 or so. Works like a charm.

Get a bi-metal hole saw (the white ones) at any hardware or big box store. The 402 loader bucket is rather soft metal and the hole saw will go thru it like a hot knife thru butter. It will also look a lot nicer than a torch cut hole. I used the bi-metal saw on mine and got a perfect hole with almost no effort.

MFL,
Got the Markham toothbar for my loader and the bolts that hold the bar to the sides of the bucket are 1/2 in. no need to cut anything, just mark and drill hole. Those toothbars from Markham are HEAVY /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Real heavy, and drill the hole. Did mine in a few minutes and had photos on TBN that same day, with dirt on them in fact.

Markham folks are great to work with, and they do as they say. Had mine (and milkmans) in a day of ordering. Simple quick and clean..........very cool!

Thanks guys. I hoped that would be the answer. I've got a 1/2 inch Makita that should work well, but I don't have a hole saw that small. I'll drop by the Ace and pick one up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Milkman, how's yours holding up? Had to change any teeth yet?

Hey, I couldn't break that thing with dynamite. I have picked the rear wheels up, with 250lb in the seat, with one tooth pulling on a stump. You don't have to worry about breaking that thing.
