I stopped in at our JohnDeer construction equipment dealer and picked up a skid-steer (JD) 60" toothbar for $250 that fit my NH TC33 just right. It looks a little heavier than what our NH dealer carried at $400+. It mounts with 1 bolt on each side as described by someone else earlier.
That sounds like a real winner. Mine is 72" wide, but it sounds like it'll still be less expensive. Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I will build mine. An 6' bucket will need 8 teeth. A guy on ebay sells them as a business and offers 8 HD teeth with shanks for about $120. He also affers sets of six or seven. 866+222-2557 is his toll free number. The rest is three pieces of metal and two holes. I ordered one tooth ($15) and will make the bar first. After I have the bar built and I'm sure the tooth ordered is correct I'll order seven more. This reduces risk.
For the steel a good smaller fabricator shop might sell you the three pieces of steel cut exactly to length.
The savings compared to $320 price would pay for most of a Lincoln welder from Sam's club if you don't have one.
Look at "Build it yourself" and "customization" discussions for more info. I'll be posting step by step list of what I did.
Is that tooth bar a 24 inch model or did you hold a gun to the dealers head to get that price? Great buy. I hope it holds up for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
the dealer has a local welder that makes them for him. time will tell how it holds up, but it has done everything ive wanted so far.
the dealer said he has this guy make them quite often for him. i dont think it would make sense for him to continue this if they didnt hold up or held up badly.
