Last year my neighbor's cable went out. Rather than run a new overhead wire, they sent out two guys and a small directional boring machine. They ran it under the road right up to his house and popped up. Then they pulled the cable back with it. Then they moved down the road about 100 yards to the box, and ran it right up into the first hole. Pulled the cable back to the box and left. Another tech came out and hooked it up. The boring only took about 15-20 minutes per run, so about 30-40 minutes total. I was impressed with the speed.
