Tractor
Kubota 3130 hst
Just got my first tractor, a Kubota 3130 HST. Did the standard drill, started looking at a new riding lawn mower, worked my way up though the 7500, 2410, 2910, was about to buy a 2910, when my wife said her favorite was the 3130 and we should get it. How could I refuse?

My question is about which top link hole to use on the tractor when attaching a brushhog. The dealer has the toplink in the highest hole on the tractor, the manual indicates it should be in the lowest. Which is it? And what is the difference (other than the hole?

Thanks.

opus,

The top link hole only affects the amont of lift you get in the transport mode as far as I can see.

When you are brush hogging you have the mower lowered and the link at the top of the mower pivots, so the hole the top link is in does not mean much.

I would follow the manual rather than the dealers advice. BUT I suspect it makes little difference during mowing.

In my case I have a Kubota B2910 and I put my top link in the top hole...with a Woods BB60 rotary cutter.

By the way...I think you got the right tractor for 10 acres...and I think I got the right one for 3.7 acres!

Henro,

Thanks for response. As a newbie I really appreciate your help in getting started on the right foot with my tractor.

The shredder cut up everything I wanted it I it to and some I didn't want it to!
