I bought the wrench at Wal-Mart in the hitch section, and it works fine. I keep it between my seat and console, it seems like it could get double use as a head knocker.
How long a cheater would an average guy or gal need and what would he/she brace against to apply 430 Ft-lbs torque?

Exactly ... An even bigger issue removing it if youve used a strong Loctite. -- So dont. Get a good 1/2" impact gun and tighten to stall. Those ball stubs are 1" fine thread and are capable of sustaining around 1000 ftlb dry. Theres a good safety margin using a strong 1/2 impact.Bigger problem will be trying to keep the ball from spinning, if you're not using an impact gun.

Hitch balls require a 1-7/8 socket and a torque wrench capable of approximately 430 Ft-lbs torque for installation.
