Tires Tow behind log splitter

I agree with the above opinions, although I wouldn't tow it on road at all regardless of what the manufacturer specifies. I've seen too many similar devices hopping around behind a truck.

Don't do it, it's not made for that. Roll it around your property, or farm, or a mile down to the neighbors - that's about all you really want to do. Load it on a trailer if going further.

I too, purchased a Tractor Supply Splitter and reluctantly towed it 27 miles home. I kept it under 40 mph the entire trip and stopped to check tires and bearing heat about every 10 miles. Surprisingly, the only problem I encountered was the loss of one of the bearing covers. Please note I would not suggest towing these things on the highway any further than absolutely necessary. All of the above post warning against it are spot on. Trailer it if at all possible!

Ten years ago I purchased a 22 ton Dirty Hand Tools splitter, towed it home using only city roads , never going over 40mph
Got home in one piece 22miles later bearings never got hot!
Good luck bro!🚜

Don’t forget poor road conditions where the splitter is bouncing around in the back, out of your view.

....and I have seen them bouncing like crazy behind a truck too. I always wondered what that was doing to the carburetor float.

Wheels or tow hitch are put on to make it easier to move around on your property.

I'm seriously thinking if manufacturers shouldn't remove one of these two to prevent people from coming up with such ideas.

Another reason not to tow this splitter is because there is no axel. Its just a short pipe welded to the bottom of the hydro tank. One bad bump could crack the weld and snap the small pipe.
