It took awhile but I've decided. The 7610 with 60"MMM and LA352 with filled R4 tires. If the MMM comes in to the dealer I'll pick it all up this week. I wish I had it now. It is certainly more than I need right now in a tractor but balanced with what I want now and might need down the road it seemed like the way to go. Done.

I've also decided on the Woods 52 inch tiller. Now...... what else? I have read a lot on which blade.... box vs others. People I respect give good reasons for their favorite. I see no reason not to get both so I have the right tool for the job.

Am I correct that many will pull a 60" box blade on this size CUT? Am I missing anything?

Thanks to all those who have shared their experience. The choice on which color was easy. Blue was the closest dealer. First time there they had nothing on the lot in a CUT to look at and no salesman to talk to. I drove by later and saw they did have something new and when I called I talked to a guy who told me the TC 24 was a glorified lawn mower and told me flat out they don't stock the small stuff. Done with Blue. Never looked at Green. Couldn't see going Kioti since nothing close by to look at and no one around here uses them. Might have been tough to sell used if I was so inclined.......

Any suggestions on what to ask for extra when I go to pick it all up this week?

How about a tooth bar for the FEL for more effiecient digging.

Hi,

I think you are on the right track. I don't have a tiller so I don't know about that...

My guess is that the 60" box will work for most things but that if you get REAL aggressive it may be too much for the 7610, only because I think my 60" may be too much for my B2910 if I get real aggressive. But for most things I am really glad I got the 60" box and my guess is that you will be too.

I am also glad I got a cheap KK landscape rake! You might want to consider one. Pretty nice for smoothing out soil after roughing things in with the box blade. Also for raking gravel in a parking spot or similar things.

The landscape rake doesn't work well with snow though... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ... hey, if you don't try it once how can you know for sure... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A post hole digger is real nice too...if you plan on digging holes... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If you don't have a welder, get the dealer to weld some hooks on the bucket. They are REALLY useful! Pick up a couple chains too. I bought both 3/8 and 5/16, two of each, but tend to use the 5/16 more often than not.

And don't forget the backhoe! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I like mine most of all... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I am fortunate to have access to a full size backhoe should I need one so I won't be getting one.

Henro, am I correct to assume that with filled tires and a box blade on the back that this would be all the balast I would need for using the FEL under heavy loads?

i have a 60" landpride box scraper off the back of my 7610. i have yet to use it though since it is still too wet by me.

i have filled turfs and with that box scraper on the back i easily picked up my 4 wheeler with the fel. the combo of the 2 appears to be plenty of rear weight.

i think you will be happy with your new orange buddy. i have been so far... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For the most part, yes, from what I can see. BUT I can also tell you that with loaded R4s, along with my 60" KK box blade on the back, I still lifted my rear left tire off the ground shockingly quick, when I was raising my bucket after dumping a load of fill, and a toothbar tooth on the right corner caught a pine tree branch right at the tree trunk.

The branch did not break off, and the rear left tire literally jumped up off the ground. It shocked me actually, a "whoa!" came out of my mouth, and at the same time reflex action pushed the loader control forward and dropped the bucket.

This kind of situation is entirely different from a simple lift of both rear wheels, which seems more controlled, and comfortable if it happens, at least to me. I don't remember if I can cause the rears of my B2910 to lift off the ground together or not when the box blade is on the back...I usually have a couple hundred pounds of concrete blocks sitting on top of my box blade for extra weight, by the way.

So I would say most of the time you will be fine, but it still pays to practice the emergency drop drill now and then so you arm knows what to do before your brain can tell it.
