I have the early stages of the addiction, TBN daily+ since November, new (to me) tractor in January, rear blade in February, trailer hitch receiver on bucket in April, pneumatic grease gun in May, toothbar and canopy in June, plan on ordering TnT next week, working on converting mech thumb to hydraulic. Worst part... wife knows how much I enjoy my tractor and she ENCOURAGES me to go out and play, also she doesn't start dinner until I come in for the night!!! :) :D This could get ugly!! :D :D
PS-- She is a KEEPER!!

A wife that encourages your habit! She's definitely a keeper! My wife frequently reminds me that "tractors are for farms", and "we don't have a farm".

My wife encourages me too. She's the one that talked me into buying the tractor in the first place. So yes, now I have an addiction, I have no guilt, but do I have wife abandonment or has she worked her wiles and conivingly gotten me out of the house and into the outdoors to get work done?

Also, on a probably unrelated note, on occassion, I vaguely remember her ringing a little bell, I black out and when I come to, the house has been painted, the windows have been washed, or the bathroom tile has been regrouted and I'm not sure how those things are getting done. Whenever I ask her about this, she just whispers in my ear "Kubota." Unexplainedly, I just up and run out to the barn and hop on the tractor. Do you think my wife has a problem?

Now what kind of crazy talk is that: "we don't have a farm"?

Not all of us have a lavish spread like Oliver and Lisa Douglas, but that doesn't mean a tractor is unreasonable or unnecessary. Quite the contrary, I'm sure that you must have grass, or a tree, or some dirt that needs to be moved, don't you?

Surely that's enough to spend thousands of dollars to cut, move, or dig.

Spanky was right, some wimen just don't get it.

Fortunately, others do (like mine) :D :D

Right now, we have dirt to move, dirt to level, grass to plant, post holes to dig. This will keep it busy this summer. Maybe a little more of the same next summer. After that there is always snow to move (we don't get that much, but I have a lot of area to clear), and there's always mulch in the spring, but that is about it on my little 1 acre property. Grass cutting duties are much better served by my little 'Bota G1800S with AWS, given all the tight spots and things I need to mow around.

Now, back to the addiction already in progress. I put about 10 hrs on my gear drive B7100 before deciding that I "need" HST. I put another 12 on it while shopping for one, and buying it. I spent 4 hours doing FEL work with it today, and now I'm thinking "this HST is really nice, but power steering would be nice too!" Do you all see where this is going.... :D

Oh, and I finally got to use my PHD today. I spent a hour trying to get the first fence post hole in the ground -- stupid tree roots   ! The good news is, the rest of the holes shouldn't be near any trees.

As I sit here, shaking, awaiting the fuel bowl.. I'm wishing for a phd and tree roots. Oh god HELP ME!!! I think I need a cold beer to help with the shakes!

OK, did a few sections of fence now, those hole went much better! I do have one question, how do I keep half the dirt from falling back in the hole as I pull the auger out?

I may have had a breakthrough with the wife. She now understands that the fence will be a multi-day project, and that it is best to put the sections of fence up as we go, instead of drill all the holes at one time. Multiple days of renting a PHD would cost a few hundred $, which is all I paid for the PHD for the tractor! Another point for ownership vs. rental!

I noticed that on this forum the smaller the acreage the more tractors some people seem to have...
Or at least more attachments...:D

Your wife is called an "enabler" they usually start supporting you then when the addiction sets in real strong they start to complain about it. ;)

Interesting point - there does seem to be an inverse relationship between acreage and toys. :D

I'm just trying to do my part, for science. :D :D
