The boom profile hes building, is comparable to a Caterpillar M314 mobile excavator, which is considerably stronger than a TLB. Unless its a Huddig:

These beasts weigh 12.5 ton without buckets, which means a 15 ton operating weight, and are built to take a beating in harsh scandinavian frost. It has the same ZF axles as a 13 ton wheel loader like a Case 621 and arent comparable to any of the regular backhoes, both in durability as well as in price.

I thought this was going on a tractor that’s half or less that weight. Have I really missed it here?

No you got that right, the Belarus weighs about 4.3 ton, the front loader adds another 700 which makes 5, and the backhoe will weigh somewhere near 2 ton, which makes it still 1 to 1.5 ton less than a full size backhoe. I dont know what cylinders Bfreaky uses, but judging on his boom dimensions, he must think that overkill is underrated

You can do so much with overkill. My full size backhoe will easily pull its self backwards or pull the front end off the ground lifting with the boom.

Renze, main cylinders on the new backhoe will be 115/50-800 mm, all brand new. Bucket cylinder is 80/50-800 mm. The booms will have the same width (220-200-170 mm) but the height is smaller then rk 525. I'm carefully calculating the weight of every part. Main frame will be built with tubes 150x100x8 mm, stabilizer legs dimensions will be 150x150x8 mm. I'm hoping to get under 1500 kg with everything...
