Tractor backhoe - homemade

I know that problem... its impossible to use a linear cylinder to get a 180 degree movement without one cylinder getting over the dead point and working against the other... so you have to make with what you CAN get.. :)

P.S. did you make your own hydraulic cylinders, or just adapt a do it yourself cylinder kit with the trunnion mount ?

I got a 2 mm difference between the swing circles and that only heappens at a small portion of the swing, at about 25 degrees but I believe it will work. I made cylinders out of 2 old ones by cutting them in half and making these middle mount rings

BFreaky;

What is the word cut from steel? (Behind right swing cylinder; as you look at it sitting in operators seat)

Thanks

The word is "prototype" :) . That's also my drawning.
It's the first machine, so it has to have some kind of mark on it. I will put some more, but they are not cut yet

Nice job BFREAKY....I'm sure your care and attention will work perfectly for a long time (and to your specific needs) as it is custom made to fit a custom-quality individual. If ever you decide to try this particular project again, I truly hope you will try to fabricate EVERY part (in a more simple manner) just to say that you made it MOSTLY from what you were able to do within the limitations of your tools/machinery and supplies/material. If possible, and if ever a more simple design would interest you in the challenge of doing it with less outsourcing, I truly hope the steps are video archived.

As an illustrator and "tinkerer", I'm glad I happened upon this thread and am exytremely anxious to see the finished product (in use). A video would be GRAND.
