Thats end stroke damping on the cylinders. There is a protrusion of
about 1/2" on the piston that goes into a chamber in the cylinder bottom, the amount of
damping depends on how tight the protrusion fits in the chamber.

On my hoe and lots of others, swing damping is built in by the geometry of the cylinder
pivots. As you swing farther and farther to the side, the leverage decreases to a
point where the pushing cylinder's pivot goes over center to the pulling cylinder
pivot. Slows things down gradually and there is no banging when you reach 180 degrees.

This design will have most force and least speed when straight back. It will have less force and more speed near the end. So dfkrugs hoe would have end stroke damping...

Final position of hydraulic flow regulators under the operators seat. Pumps in place, measuring the lenght of oil supply hoses... I hope to finish the hose shields tomorrow, clean up the whole main frame and prepare everything for the first paint...

what kind of wrench is that is second photo. some kind of rothenberger 'vise grip'?

Hersheyfarm, that's an adjustable wrench. It's quite useful. We use it for tightening of uneven objects like those pipes and fittings on the frame

All the guys i work with (auto shop) have those adjustable wrench/plyers things. they use them for everything. Snapon was the first to sell them around here but other companies have picked up variations.
