Tractor Definition

I call a pond with cows a stock tank. :laughing: I call my 1 acre pond a pond. My neighbor calls his 3/4 acre pond a lake. :laughing:

We live on a 2.5 acre pond that used to be in a cow pasture but is now surrounded by five houses.

Interesting thread.We call our garden tractor a tractor, and plan on buying a riding mower. Still haven't bought a 'tractor' yet, though the GT does a lot of work.
It's done some seriops grading and path clearing. Pulled out decent sized stumps. It will pull decent sized trailers too.
I made a rig that attaches to the sleeve hitch for pulling logs and pipe.

Well, Frank, I see wheel weights, a grading blade, and a mechanical-lift
rear hitch. That sure is a "tractor".

Whether one calls his tool a LT, GT, SCUT, CUT, UT, AG, TLB, or
whatever, there is a continuum of sizes and weights, and the lines
between each "class" are blurry at best.

Why don't the members of this site start a governing body to outline what a SCUT, CUT, UT etc. actually are defined as? It would not be very hard andmaybe the manufacturers would actually adhere to the organization for a proper definition.

shounds good to me but how we going to get hem all to set down at a table and talk though.

i have a jd 110 riding lawn tractor also that needs aallot of help but it will blow snow, mow, plow, harrow, culivate, plant, power augers ( if you have the pto attachment), run air compresior, run a generator, (also atachments), swep drive ways, put a loader on it. i also have a cub cadet 109 that need alot of tlc like this onei need to have both motors done. and proly the tranies, and paint and hod for one and other parts. but i dont have the money now so they sit and wait but some day they will run again.

My thoughts exactly. Notice how long this thread is already? I doubt it would be any improvement trying to formalize it.
