OK.....how do you know?

When my youngest turned 16, I bought her a VW convertible. It was in my name and I never changed it over to her. She drove it for 5 or 6 years and coming home one dark and stormy night, she ran off the road and took out a big road sign...took out the VW too. Anyway, it wasn't long before I got a letter from the Department of Transportation...actually it was mostly a bill for the sign...$168...and a threat that they would have my driver's license revolked and take me to court to collect the money. I happened to know their lawyer, I called her and told her that I wasn't driving the car and I didn't think they should be making threats like that. Anyway, I paid the state for the sign and went on my way. Had the VW restored a couple years later; wish I still had it.

Anyone notice the nice rear mounted loader and grapple? I wonder if it had the operator's station that swivels front and rear... nice tractor.

New Holland TV series tractor. The seat, controls, dash, ect. rotate as one big unit.

"We turned it into insurance, but we don't know whats going to come out", she said.

Nice example of bad grammar, by a public official.

Perhaps none of them are particularly smart.

Owners of multi million dollar businesses with equipment valued in hundreds of thousands of dollars . They place the equipment in the care and control of employees that can't find a job paying above minimum wage.

You would never guess that the weight of farm equipment would have to be explained to employees - but I guess it does. You would never expect that warning signs, in English, would have to be explained to employees. You would never guess that employees can not convert from pounds to tons and vice/versa.

In any case, thank God the tractor survived.

And then, insist the government should force those owners, to pay them $15 per hour for their ineptitude. :confused2:

As if it was a new employee...! ya right.

Probably a state worker.

Ok, had to laugh, after reading the second article, the guy was a former county commissioner. This is the guy who was elected? LOL Perhaps that's why he's the former commissioner.

That's how he got out of paying for the repairs, as county commissioner he had the right connections to get responsibility pushed over onto state insurance (paid for by Colo citizens).

Looks like that's what prevented the whole tractor from going into the river?

The insurance company still has the option of going after the tractor owner.

True, I guess it depends how far they want to ruffle feathers with the county & ex-commissioners etc. But its clearly the owners responsibility. The owners insurance should be paying for it, not the citizen's insurance.

The owner didn't do this, an employee of his did this. No excuse, he still should pay, but the former commissioner is not the culprit. In most places, liability falls to the owner and/or operator. Guess whose insurance pays for destroyed guardrails and utility poles when you crash and snap them? Yep, the offender.
