Passover, take a look at the Japanese tractors. The grey models come over here with "rice" tires, deeper lugged Ags. If you look at the pics of them in action, you can find metal paddle wheel extensions, that add more traction. BTW, its not the tractor so much as much as the implements and tires that make them rice field capable.

Just do a search. There's plenty of info.

All kinds of. Zetor built 5511 models with special brakes for Iseki, Japan, from 1968 to 1972. these were sold with cage wheels instead of rubber tires. And off course the Japs themself built loads of them.

Thanks for the info. I came from Philippines and we have vast rice fields but have not seen tractors being use. Mostly still use the old methods that takes longer plowing time and planting preparation.

Working in southern MS and Arkansas I was exposed to several rice tractors, Bassically modified tractors. Case, Deere, NH, Same, Kubota and many more makes them with tall narrow tires. I have a backhoe that came off a large Case Rice tractor.

I have looked for one of these for a long time. Mainly just for the novelty. If you Google the Iseki model number there is a really neat video of it in action.

I realy like this tractor. My land is water logged parts of every year and this tractor looks like something I could use.

Thanks very much. I love that tractor. I wonder if I can get tracks for my BobCat CT120? and would they work with the front wheel drive ratio (even if the front drive were not engaged?.

Mattracks. Snowmobile clubs put them on tractors for grooming the trails. Should be just what you are looking for.
