Cheap don't mean a product is bad. Just as expensive don't mean its any better

absolutely, though many are duped into thinking (knowing) so.

When i was much younger, i would frequently go to old car flea markets with my Dad. One time he was trying to sell a perfectly operating radio for a post war Plymouth. he had it hooked to a battery and an antenna and had it running. Many people came by, looked at it and walked on. Later in the day, after dozens of people looked at it and asked questions about it, and it still wasn't sold, my Dad asked his friend in the next site, why he couldn't sell it. He was told that it was priced too low.

He doubled the price and sold it within a few minutes.

Higher cost does make it better, for the seller.

I agree with LD1.

Same here. If it meets the spec for my tractors, I will use it. By the way, there is nothing wrong with re-refined oil. The oil never wears out, just the additives and after the used oil has went thru the refining process, it is just as clean and wholesome as oil refined from crude. Crude oil has much more "junk" in it that has to be removed than used motor oil. BUT if you want to pay 80 bucks a gallon for oil sold by a dealer that more than likely is relabeled oil from the same refinery as the cheaper stuff, by all means do it. The economy needs your dollars.

So can anyone explained why Kioti and Bobcat are not found on the TSC label or many other brands. Trying to learn a bit here.

Ran out of room on the label?
Tsc was making that same oil long before kioti was popular in the USA, and long before bobcat started rebranding them perhaps they just never updated.

But there is nothing unique or proprietary about a kioti/bobcat. Would anyone object to using JD oil or Kubota oil in a kioti? Cause I doubt they have kioti on the label. And everyone on here is always talking about using JD corn head grease for this or that.....

At the bottom of the label shown is the reference: "Manufactured Exclusively for Tractor Supply Co.". Now who do you suppose would be doing that? Don't suppose it's Warren Oil Co. do you? If you are worried about the oil why not just email Warren for a list of establishments that are on their packaging list for lubricants.......may take awhile for the list to download.

I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't help but comment. When I got around to the first changeout of hydraulic fluid at the specified time for my Bobcat CT230, I read through the owners manual, looked at their oil specification, and just laughed. Other than calling for "Bobcat Transmission/Differential Fluid", the closest they got to a specification was to cite "Viscosity, ASTM D 445" and "Viscosity Index, ASTM D 2270." Those are most certainly not any kind of oil specification, but are instead the official test methods for determining the viscosity and viscosity index. They tell you exactly nothing about the oil to be used.

I ended up going with the stuff that meets the JD J20C spec, and it's been working just fine.

As it turned out, I could have probably just changed the filters and continued with the original fluid until 100 hrs, as what came out looked identical to what went back in.

Hello, I have a new to me TC35 and need to change the hydraulic fluids, very interesting read.

My question is what do you do with the OLD removed fluids... I haven't read anything here on how to dispose of it.

Thank You

~Phil
