I recognize the concern over liability, but I do not diminish the need for personal property damage. They are both important and the the level of importance can only be determined by the circumstance of the situation. If a tree falls on my shed and demolishes it and my tractor, I could care less about liability in that instance. If someone was sitting on the tractor at the time, I care little about the property until the person is taken care of. They both have their place.

I'm of the understanding that if you are towing the liability from the trailer / load causing damage in an accident is covered under the truck liability policy.

(I'm specifically asking only about damage caused by trailer / tractor while being towed)

I checked and my policy does, don't know if all do, but they should.

Some policies do not cover towed vehicles, nor do they cover any vehicle, nor implement on said towed vehicle.
Look for the above highlighted words.

Mine was different about towed vehicles, I never asked about towing the tractor on a trailer, since I don't do that. I did have to insure my trailer to have coverage on it when behind the tractor, whereas an ordinary automotive policy covers the trailer when the car is towing it.

The trailer insurance was $20 or so, not worth debating.

I bet your local farm bureau insurance company will cover it under the homeowner policy.:thumbsup: If not, I am sure they have a program that will. Been with the GA farm bureau for around 15 years now. Great rates, home, auto, and now even life.

That's how I have mine covered. I can't remember my rate right off hand but I to remember it being dirt cheap.

Mine are covered by Farm Bureau but they would not do it on homeowners policy. Only full coverage on each tractor. I carry more insurance on the tractors than the trucks I drive. Liability only on the trucks, Full coverage on the tractors, said that was the only way they would write the policy because the tractors are housed in the barn at farm, not where I live. Funny thing is they would not insure the barn at first because it needed some work on it. Afraid I would burn it down. When I nsured the tractors they asked where I was going to keep them, I said in the barn. Then they insured the barn.

Interesting comments on insurance... Insurance companies seem to have more reasons NOT to do something than to do it! It's a catch 22 situation at best.
My TC40 is in a locked garage (on the 'farm') but Farm Bureau won't insure it because I don't live there. My city homeowners insurance will not add it on a rider because the farm house is not insured and won't insure the house because it's not in city limits!
Is there any place to get just basic perils coverage?
