Tractor Insurance

I have been meaning to come back here and post what I found out. State Farm will cover a tractor under a personal affects policy for about $350 for $25k worth of insurance. State Farm does not cover farms anymore - at least in WV. I could get tractor coverage (most call it inland marine, but not all) cheaper elsewhere, but they would not cover it without at least homeowners. The other companies I contacted were significantly higher than State Farm for homeowners, so it is cheaper to keep everything with them. Erie was the next cheapest one for me.

I got the insurance from agricredit when I financed the tractor. It is a cash value policy not a loan pay off policy. I also talked to Equipment Insurance International. There price was almost the same as the Agricredit policy. I will have to change policies at some point because my insurance will cancel with loan payoff.
