Tractor Life Expectancy?

Brewdog, 10,000 hours is the number that I've always seen used. When we bought the new Kubota last year, the dealer, who we've known for years, told my S-I-L that if she didn't get that number of hours out of it, to bring it back. He was sure that his grandson would enjoy talking to her grandson about when the "ol' folks" bought that 'Bota. We'll see. I wonder if we'll still have the 50 year old JD and 35 year old MF at that time. Nope, I hope that the Massey will be gone but I bet we'll still have the JD 820.

It sure is a good thing that none of our diesel tractors ever watch TV, or else they would be break down and become suicidal......which isn't the case.

Maybe they can tune into TV shows to learn about the facts of life sometime in the 22nd century, about a hundred years from now.....and then all they'll want is a ring or valve job to raise their compression and feel good again! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A large farming tractor wears not so fast as a little tractor i thin everyone knows this, but i don't think a little tractor will reach the 10.000 if you are working with it maybe 7000
A large tractor will reach the 10.000 very easy.

I think that maybe you are right about the lower amount of hours that a compact tractor will go before an overhaul is needed. I also think that it will most like be between 7-8000 hours if it is serviced properly.
