If the police do stop you they may hassle you about DRILLING HOLES IN YOUR ROPS. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The drilled ROPS is an issue. However, I am more concerned with the hydrostat problems. Henro, are you sure your tractor can make it two miles down the road ? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My question relates only to whether I can run my B2910 Kubota on the road to his house, without worrying about a hassle from the local police, if they happen to see me on the road. I know tractors are on the roads in PA all the time, but it is rare (when you live 15 minutes from downtown by car) to see them on the roads around here.

Can I, should I, would you?

I would not want to offer help and then later backout.

Grateful for any advice/pointers ... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just be careful you don't get run over by a horse and buggy!

Your question has been answered pretty well, but here is something I saw that was an interesting site.

I went to Sturgis in '95 for the big Harley meet. Really cool stuff, if'n you ride a Harley.

So here we are in Spearfish, getting gas. There's a bunch of bikes lined up at all the pumps. Well, here in the middle of all these chromed up bikes and folks in leather, is this fellow sitting on a fairly large IH tractor, waiting to get fuel. The image of the leather clad chromed up folks and this guy on the tractor was great!

In town the Grange hall had breakfast every morning; when your town grows from 5000 to 250,000 for a week, you can earn your clubs keep in one week. Anyways, beside the line for breakfast is this older blue haired lady with a BEUATIFUL hand sewn quilt. It was really something! So, here she is, selling tickets to raffle this thing off to these gus in leather and t-shirts. And, they were buying the raffle tickets, a lot of them.

And now, back to your normally scheduled program...

The rotating beacons are required only for night time use (sunset to sunrise) as I read it. On the other hand, adding a couple of light bars might insure you have the most unique tractor on the block!

Bill, i have done it numerous times, as stated before, just have SMV on and flashers on. when possibel i have a car behind me with the 4 ways on, i have taken my tractors to the dealer about 4 miles in this manner, of course i live in a rural area, and the dealer is in a small town. unless it is a super highway, i don't think anyone would hassel u for only 2 miles.but again this is just MY ASSUMPTION! why not check with the local police and mabey your ins. agent?

I drove my 670 across secondary roads for a distance of ~10 miles.

Definitely have that escort behind you!

Our machines are pretty small (relatively speaking). A pickup with it's flashers on is much more visible.

For whatever it's worth, in Massachusetts, you can operate a tractor used exclusively for agricultural purposes on public ways without registering same, for a distance of not more than 1/2 mile or, for up to two miles IF the owner maintains a policy of mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance. the statute does not expressly say that the liability insurance has to provide coverage to the owner while he is operating the tractor on public ways, but that is a reasonable and likely interpretation.
