Tractor
PT-180
Well, gentlemen, I finally got my order in for a new PT-180. Thanks to all the contributors in this forum for helping me in my decision. Had to delay delivery until Monday for extenuating circumstances, but I'm already counting down the minutes till it gets here. Got it with both buckets, forks, potato digger, ramps, post-hole digger, 6" and 9" augers. I've got plenty of projects lined up already, and will be sure to post pics as I make progress. Take care, and thanks again. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's here! It's here! Tractor arrived at 0620 this morning. Unfortunately, I had already left for work, so I'm stuck here listening to my wife tell me how neat it is. I'm definitely going to have to leave early so I can get home and play, er, mow my lawn if the rain holds off. Will try and send pictures this evening. Argh, the agony! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Man, that must hurt! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Didn't I hear something about your hot water heater tank leaking? Or your front door fell off of your house? Or a swarm of angry bees got into the house? You REALLY need to get home to take care of these problems! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And while you're taking care of those problems, make sure that you take LOTS of pictures so we can all see how you fixed things! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Trojan6-
Congratulations /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I must say I am a little jealous even though I am just beginning the tractor researching process.

I will send you a PM with a few questions regarding getting one of these machines in Texas.

Wow. Now I know what all the fuss is about. Finally got off work and had an absolute blast learning how to use my new PT-180, mowing the front lawn, and digging up cactus with the forks (thanks for the recommendation MR!). Even had to haggle with the wife over who got to play with it after I showed her how to use it. Since when are married couples supposed to argue over who gets to mow the lawn? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Here's a picture of the wife on the PT-180. It was a real pain in the butt trying to get her off of it. Go figure.

Stefan,

Looks great! Try to keep your wife from getting all the work done before Saturday. I'd like to see you put it through its paces! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Trojan6,

Sorry it rained all day Saturday and I didn't get too see your new machine. However, rain was only scattered on Sunday in Central Texas, so give us an update on what you did with your new PT /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Too bad you couldn't make it. Two others showed up, and I let them move some dirt around with the 180. Didn't have a whole lot of luck though, due to the wet/slippery ground. I still managed to find some other jobs to work on with it.
Sunday really put the tractor through its paces, and I can honestly say I haven't been as impressed with a piece of equipment as when I took it into the woods. Simply amazing. The ability to knock down branches, dig up 6-in cedar trees at the roots, and push huge piles of brush around convinced me that I made the best choice. However, the verdict is still out on the post-hole digger. Spent two hours after work yesterday trying to dig a hole, and it just wasn't cutting it. I'm gonna look for a better bit (rock) to attach and see if I'll have more luck.
Will try and get some pictures posted when I slow down some.

Holy *&^% /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif!
you "bulldozed" cedars with your machine. Those from central Texas may not understand, cedars (actually white mountain junipers) are rock hard yet incredibly flexible, have a root system that looks like the devil's own horns and grow in 1 inch of topsoil and 100' of bedrock.

Save a couple for me, I have got to see that "little" machine dig up a 6" cedar.

All I can say is WOW /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif!

Congratulations again.
