I might get some flack for this, but I also pray for my son and for the direction I need to be a good parent.

Cool, one of the best answers for any situation.

NO law, NO insurance, and get the other boys folks involved.

Law means record and you never know when that will come back to haunt him, and he should be reminded, that as a family member in the home, YOU are the LAW.

Insurance means he gets out of paying money he worked his ##$$% for, and now that you have him by the hair, you are the boss. Hard work, and I mean shovel and wheelbarrow kind while you supervise from the tractor, never hurt anyone.

Dont expect alot from the other boys folks, unless they are level headed also. But your son may see the "friend" he really is if your son is working off a debt they BOTH created. Hopefully the parents will let you "hire" their kid to help pay the "debt".

Prayer works miracles

VW's are cool, make him drive something like a 77 pinto wagon for his first "real" car.

I agree with the no law. When I used to work with as a programmer on a court system (Civil, Criminal, Domestic, Juvenile, and a Court of Appeals) we used to have an expunge flag. Yes, a flag. That meant we never truly deleted and it was still viewable by certain people - even in the Juvenile system. I forget under what circumstances it was, but there were certain times that the expunged cases had to be included in background checks and even certain reports. Yeah, expunged means gone forever. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Thanks again for all the advice.

Well, things have gone from bad to worse. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'll update when I get a little more time to type.

Well,

Here it is. After the whole fiasco, the neighbor is taking me to small claims court for damages my son (and the loose goats) supposedly did to his property. He is claiming 2,500 in cosmetic damages and wants my insurance info! Remember, it was his son who raided HIS liquor cabinet.

Two of the goats that got out have died. One male and one female (Buffers and Noggin)...I don't know if it's related but all signs point to yes.

My ex is petioning for full custody of my son and asking that I get supervised visitation. She wants us all in counciling.

The sheriff's department showed up with code enforcement(My neighbor called) about the damage and are now looking at me for contributing to the delinquecy(?) of a minor for the rampage. They have already been to the Ex's house to take a report.

The VW bodywork is going to cost $3400 per her insurance and IS NOT COVERED.

Last but not least, the damage to my Deere will prevent me from getting half of what it is worth until I can repair it. Not that my son can help...I think he was fired from Long John Silvers Mon. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This is enough to make me start drinking again. (I have been sober for 7 yrs). /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Lew, stay sober, despite all this, its not worth falling off the wagon. I can't help but think of the bible story of JOB. All sorts of problems, some minor some major and all one right after another just to temp him into denying God. I'm not trying to impose religon here, it is just that your problems and JOB's problems seem to run a reasonable parallel. If there is anything we (all of here on TBN) can do, even if it is just to listen and let you get it off your chest, then we are here for you.

Good luck.

Good luck,
