Bro Tek spacers for L3200 (same chassis as L3800). Surprisingly easy install.

Rear R4 with spacers installed. We did it for tire chain clearance.

Thread.

My similar starting thread.

Our driveway is only 750 and we usually have it plowed, but we Average 10 of snow per season and got 14 last year. We use the FEL bucket with Edge Tamers. We grooved the R4 for better snow traction, and recently got logging chains.

Thanks, that's really helpful. So far the ATV and plow combo has been fine for snow but having a tractor for deeper stuff would be great. I plow downhill so I can get it done pretty quickly. I'd love to be able to cut some trails on my property. It looks very similar to yours. Beautiful place BTW.

we used to do our own firewood, but it has gotten so cheap it makes much more sense to just have someone come dump the oak and hickory split in our driveway. It is $100 a full cord, seasoned and cut to whatever length we want. Then all we have to do is stack it in the barn

It's around $200 a cord where I live from what I've seen. Right now I have around 5-7 cords of logs down from when we cleared an area for our mountain view and cutting and moving wood is my exercise program. All Axe and Maul, no splitter. :)

I have read thru most of these posts, with the numbers you are quoting on your driveway,
and having to use 4wd in the summer on your pu yes a tractor will work.
One concern would be the oiling system and hydraulic pickup, it is difficult to find slope
values from the manufactures on their equipment, my driveway is between 20-25 % slope
on most of it. I use a larger tractor for my driveway maintenance plowing then most do.
If your atv with chains can be dicey so can and will be any tractor.
You will most certainly need chains on a tractor, any tractor.
The studded Euro are without a doubt in my mind the most gripping chain you can
have on a tractor untill you get into the multiple diamond skidder type chains.
With extreme slopes up or downhill can result in oil starvation to your engine
and hydraulics. I run mine a bit over full, over filling will not hurt unless you start
getting aeration of the oils from the crankshaft or other rotating components.
You could get more seepage from gear boxes and such, to me that is usually going to be a minor concern.
I seldom use my front chains unless an ice storm is forecast.
