Tractor rolled over on me this morning

Incline while also trying to go over felled tree across fire lane. Also my stupidity.

Did that with my RTV one time. Side hilling while going around a trail blockage. Hit an unseen downed tree - on the uphill side - slow roll to the left and down she went.

My advice:

- Get a pro, not the local 4x4 club (I used to be a member of one in north AL).
- Make sure the tractor can't roll downhill once righted (the tree looks like it might help with that).
- Don't attempt to start until you're sure the cylinders are cleared of oil.

Good luck!

Do you think you will be able to remove the rotary cutter first? Might save your 3pt arms axel housings, etc.

It is hard for us to say. Who are your neighbours, what equipment do they have, likewise with friends.

One thing though, whatever you try and do, make sure it's solid. Rigging is well over rated for the loads involved and if using an anchor, be confident that it will hold. It should never be a matter of "trying" something. You should know it's gonna work!

My Dad is one of those guys that would try a hundred sketchy things before he spent a nickle.

It looks almost like you were centered on the ridge, left and right of the tractor look to have slope down hill. Plus the rear looks to go down hill so it looks like you were trying to take the safest approach. I wouldn’t call it stupidity unless you were trying to flip the tractor on purpose. I would get a professional to get it back up right to prevent any more damage to the tractor. If you know any recovery or fire department personnel that use big air bags to upright semis, that would be an option.

What is caught on camera in Russia is beyond words. They apparently have a massive alcoholism problem. Nothing else would explain it.

Well at least you aren't trying to foist the cause off on someone else or the manufacture or something. Yeah that was not your best move. BUT you lived to tell about it, and we ALL have made bone headed moves at times. If you don't make mistakes, you probably aren't doing anything.

I reserve the right to change my opinion if I saw it in person but from what I see in the pictures it won't be that big of deal to stand it up. With that said though, I would try to remove the front weights and mower before trying to stand it up. If the mower can't be removed then block or chain the three point down to the draw bar so it can't raise up much while standing up the tractor. If the front weights can't be removed it will make the landing that much harder on the tractor.

I’d pull the whole thing over at once unless you have proper rigging. Trying to take them off without a boom rather it’s attached to a truck or backhoe or excavator is a good way to get hurt. Having a second vehicle on the other side to ease the fall would be a lot better.

Very true! I know a few people that never make any mistakes for that very reason. Some of them can even tell you all about your mistakes too.
