Tractor shuts down federal buildings in DC

Well, it's over now. He surrendered and was taken into custody. Now the ATF is going over the tractor looking for the explosives he claimed he had.

I'm still dumfounded how he pulled that tractor into town on the trailer behind his jeep. Jeep (red,white,blue) and trailer (yellow/orange thing) are shown next to tractor in this picture. The tractor dwarfs them! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Notice also his complete disregard for safety by driving around with the FEL raised so high. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Any of you green fans out there have a handle on what model tractor that is and what it weights? I'm with WVBill, how the heck did that Jeep pull it? Might make a good Jeep commercial.

No way that was pulled with a jeep. If the tires are filled. Then the jeep will be lucky to pull a trailer with just the tires alone! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
That guy is more than 10K lbs. My diesel F250 could not pull that bad boy.

As far as the police stopping him.....how?
10K+ tractor with duals and a grapple. That grapple is rated to pickup your average police car.
What a waste of good equipment.

My wife was stuck in the traffic jam and called me on her cell phone demanding I do something about "your tractor buddy." (Why is trouble always my responsibility?) I told her I hadn't seen any talk about tobacco subsidies on TBN so I was sure he wasn't one of my TBN buddies.

Glad it ended without injury.

I think Phred is right and there is no way the Jeep hauled that tractor. Looking at the photo of the trailer, being the yellow part, it looks to have some kind of container on it. Are there any other photos out there that anyone has seen? Still makes you wonder what was going on when this ag tractor was rolling down the street followed by a red, white and blue jeep pulling a trailer with flags waving. It was close to St. Patty's day and that may have influence the whole event. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
