Tractor shuts down federal buildings in DC

... yeah .... tobacco subsidies .... used to buy huge equipment so he can damage public property with it .... good way to get one's point across.
As I understand it, his point was that he was angry that we couldn't afford to subsidize him as much any more? Glad we got our priorities in the right place.
I guess I'm getting too doggone old ... I'm finding I have less and less patience every day for "takers", "whiners", and the genral flotsam and jetsam of modern America.

this just made our paper today, seems the guy had a permit to use his tractor for a demo. something to do with subsidies for farmers. paper was not very clear on it.

Yeah, details are coming out from his arraignment yesterday for "threatening to detonate an explosive device".

Apparently he did have a permit to demonstrate, with his tractor, at the Washington Monument grounds which is about a half a mile further down Constitution Ave than where he was. He is alleged to have said "Uh, I took a wrong turn."

I guess the permit explains why nobody stopped him from driving his tractor into the nation's capital. (Apparently you can get a permit to do ANYTHING - God bless America!!)

They also say he told them he put explosives in several other places in DC and under a tobacco billboard along I-95. There were no explosives anywhere.

He got into an argument with the judge during his arraignment and was bound over for psychiatric evaluation.
