I just bought a Land Pride RC5615 shredder and hooked it up to a Zetor 7341, cut the first day fine no issues even at low cutting height.
the next day tractor stalled every so often cutting at same height and speed, so I raised the cutting height and it still stalls. its like the RPMs just drop to nothing, I have to disengage the PTO to try to keep it from stalling and even then it takes a minute to build back up.
I was wondering if might be in the cutter or tractor. My father in law just passed away and the tractor is his, so I am not sure if there were any issue before, I was told cutter was used only 7+ hrs and it looks like brand new. any suggestions as to what it might be?

Disconnect the cutter at the tractor PTO output shaft, hang it up and out of the way temporarily To simulate a load, reduce throttle and select a higher gear than you typically mow at - then drive uphill. If the tractor's bad, you'll know it right away. If it's fine, that points to the cutter. Grab the PTO shaft that you had temporarily hung up and out of the way, and try turning it. If you can't, it's the cutter that's binding.

Thanks greg, I will give that a try. I appreciate the info.

That's a lot of cutter (I know, I have a similar Bush Hog.) Is the stalling happening when going uphill? Or are you possibly hitting high ground with it? I've stalled out my Kubota M9540 (85 hp) a couple of times when the cutter went over a hump and it ground out.

Although the advice you got above is very good, IDK if you can turn that cutter (a 15' batwing) by hand. I can't turn my Bush Hog.

does it on even ground, the strange thing is that I can restart tractor and engage PTO and it is fine for another 3 minutes.
I have another tractor I am going to connect it to and see if I can duplicate if I can, I will know its in the shredder.

The Land Pride RC5615 should have a slip clutch to prevent this. There is a setup procedure that is supposed to be done before using it. since the original owner can't answer, and the cutter is new, I would try that. Follow the procedure in the manual, and ensure that the clutch is working as it should. Changes in the moisture from day to day can have an effect on mowing, what you flew through one time might really bog you down another.
Good Luck,
Jerry
