tractor steering problem

The pedal i was talking about is attached. It is the bottom small pedal. Im thinking this is the problem. It doesnt move too much and I am thinking it is stuck.

Any ideas?

The picture was a bit small so I couldn't see much detail.
How much travel does the pedal have? Can you pull the pedal up at all? Can you see where the pedal and linkage goes under the tractor? If this is the differential lock, the linkage should go toward the rear axle.

Let us know what you find...

yes that pedal does go toward the back of the tractor, the axel im assuming. The pedal only has mabey 1/2 inch of play. Seems to me its stuck. How can I release this pedal.

It would be nice to know how much travel it should have. Maybe your friend can answer that....

About all you can do is see if there is any binding in the linkage. If it's all free down to where it enters the transmission or axle, that's about as much as you want to do. It's possible the linkage inside the differential is bound or locked up. Unless you know what you're doing, it's not advisable to go into the differential.

I'm sorry to say this, but it's probably getting close to taking this tractor in to a professional for repairs.

hey all,

just figured out the problem. turns out that pedal behind the gas was the differental lock. it was stuck in the engaged position. after playing with it, i got it free.
