I find Tractor Supply stores to be wildley independant in their service offerings and stockings. Thank goodness the one I like is next to a gas station and grocery store.

Now all I need is a bank and an IRS handout, or is it an OFHEO check? And I am all set. Cash, Convenience and Consumables!

Riptide, you must be talking about the one in Marshall

Is it just my Imagination, or have the prices really escalated at Tractor Supply. I was in there today and got a sale paper which the sale starts next week. I get home and go online and the prices are the same online as they will be when the sale starts. It seems like everything recently got marked up by about 15% and then they'll give you a 10% discount if you open an account. You could have shot a cannon off in there and not hit anyone today. Kind of disappointing because I used to like to spend money there but many Common items are much cheaper elsewhere and the same quality. What's your take if you've been there lately???

I've bought several "big ticket" items at TSC the past 3 years (42" Huskee riding mower, 4ft KK brush hog, 4 ft KK box blade) all on sale. No complaints on the price or the quality of the items.

This week I bought a new Mahindra 5525 tractor from Dave's Tractor in Red Bluff. Need a 6 ft hog for that beastie and was prepared to buy a KK hog at TSC, which has an inventory reduction sale going on (it ends today). Dave had a better deal on a 6 ft Hawkline brush hog so I went that route.

I get to town every week or two and always check out TSC's latest offerings. Lately there hasn't been much that I want or need there and the only purchase I make is a few bags of Home Town Candies licorice hollows. I'm addicted to that stuff.

My big complaint with TSC is most every time I look at their flyers and rush down to buy some of the bargains they don't have them in stock. I think it's a ploy to get people in the store. That really $%^&*es me off because it has cost me time and gas to get there. Sometimes they will order the stuff for me and call me when it gets in but too often they say it was an end of line item and they can't get any more of them.

Dead on. Walk in the door and they starting asking what you need.

Impressed. Hope they do well.

Well I know several Items I wanted are now priced too high. But in response to that and fuel issues we just lowered our share percentages to 40% we used to split scrap loads at 50% with the owner, but if we have to supply a piece of equiptment or a extra set of hands for the day I can no longer obsorb it into my half. It has to come out of theirs. Most folks are still happy, but we aren't I hate rasing my fees just to pay some oil tycoon to make more money. It makes a person want to throw in the towel,,, Then I look that my profit remains fairly constant by doing the above.
