tractor wax

Given all the support for washing and waxing tractors stated so far I kind of hate to take a contrary view, but I must. I don't wash tractors or trucks and I never clean hunting boots. Just doesn't seem right to me.

Much encouraged after reading these posts on tractor waxing. My wife gave me the eye that says there are more important things to do than wax your expensive toy. Waxing does make it clean up easier. This weekend it will get the last coat before winter.

Thank you very much for you responce on this issue. I found out last night at the supper table that I am the father that bought the tractor and then waxed it. My son thought it would be "cute" to incriminate the "old guy" about the waxing thing, so he tried to set me up. An old friend of mine once said; Becareful when you fool with a fool you get fooled.

I guess you guys showed him that great minds are think alike.

Well for the guys that has trouble waxing waxing their little toys I wax twice a year our tractor. yep our tractor all 6 of them plus the cars and trucks. the smallest tractor is 90HP and the biggest is 300hp and almost forgot the combine but that one is **** of job.

I have replaced fenders from corrosion due to cow **** and three point fertilizer spreaders. I think the L2550DT got a coat of wax 15 years and 4500 hours ago. I do keep it clean of mud but I do not get too paranoid about it.

Would you let your spouse run around without fixen her hair, etc? Much nicer lookin' at a spiffy spouse, as well as a spiffy tractor!

My wife keeps herself spiffy and I do wax the tractor, but I think after ten years the tractor's held up a little better.
