Tractor Withdrawal?

/ Tractor Withdrawal? #22
Ironically, the post on wishing for a larger tractor with a cab made me think that us tractor folks are never satisfied. I wanted the same thing till I got one, now I am watching craigslist for a small subcompact with back hoe for the little jobs around the house.

Gary, that may have been my post

Tractors are like motorcyles in the sense that one is just not enough. Unfortunately there is no do it all tractor for people like us:laughing:

My master plan (whether it will ever happen or not is a different story:D) is a larger tractor for the heavy work, and a small compact for the landscaping type work, like mowing, moving mulch, and general 'on lawn' stuff. That would be a great combination.

/ Tractor Withdrawal? #23
Got my right knee replaced four weeks ago today. After two weeks I climbed one step at a time up on the Kubota L4400HST to see if I could use it. I sat down and determined that I needed about six inches more flex to get my heel on the back of the rocker pedal in order to back up the tractor. So, that became my goal. In the meantime I had to wean myself from pain killers so I could operate heavy machinery.
I can do it now, so the next question is how long I can work in that seat at a time without stiffening up. I'll find out this week.
Yes, tractor withdrawal is a strong motivating force for recovery.

By late this afternoon it had dried up enough to maybe get our tractors out and of course now it's raining.
