tractor wont start

i have a jd 5520. it was running fine a couple days ago, went to start it today and i got nothing. no dash lights or anything. hooked up a brand new battery and still nothing. i checked all the fuses under the dash and all look good. does anyone know of another fuse im missing or if there is anything else to look for. thanks, rob

Not sure of your tractor model but I would check for a fuse/wire off the starter and also check all of the ground connections to the engine and frame. That would be a good start to trouble shooting.

Does the tractor have to be plugged in during the winter in order to keep the engine block warm? Or does it have glow plugs?

Might want to check where your ground cable attaches to the tractor.

i have checked the ground off the battery and every thing is fine.

the tractor does not need to be plugged in it has glow plugs.

ill have to check for a fuse off the starter, i did not see one earlier but ill look again tomorrow.

Key to this is no dash lights. Seems like a call to the local dealer would get you a good direction to go in.

thanks for the replies. found the problem today. there is a short jumper wire that connects the wire off the starter and the wire going to the alternator that shorted out. replaced it and its good as new
