One MUST be able to separate the person from the office! The two MUST be judged separately, something we have a problem to do these days, that's why we elect likeable incompetent fools. I don't care for him personally, but he's doing a good job as president, he's looking after the interest of his nation.

absolutely. just as long as we don't separate the man in office from the rule of law, no one is above that in a working democracy no matter how well the official is doing in the eyes of the electorate. i respect your views as a fellow citizen

I once read that most of the Presidents elected where mostly the tallest of the candidates. Shows how stupid people really are. And they often get what they deserve. Too bad, everyone has to suffer.

Is it true, that the last administration spent more money than all the presidents before him? I can hardly believe that. On what?

There is only one thing I don't like about him and that is he repeats himself all the time, I want to say to him, we heard you the first time. BUT that's the only thing.. Can't wait to vote for him again actually, I think he is doing much more for us than anyone since Reagan. Normally I can't even listen to a president they are so politically correct, this guy talks like the guy down the street..

He does sometimes come across about as daft as the young Bush did. But not in the same kind of funny way, Bush did. I do find his remarks like about having a Bigger Button, and it "WORKS" very funny. And priceless for a president to talk that way, in my opinion.

Makes you wonder though, how he can be so successful.

No. He spent the most "dollars" out of all of the previous administrations, but looking at percentage increases nobody touches F.D.R.

On a pure dollar basis, accounting for inflation, I believe he was higher than any other single president, but not out of the ballpark. He largely spent the money trying to avoid another great depression and beefing up military spending.

For instance FDR added 236 billion in 1944 money, but adjusted for inflation he added 3.6 trillion of today's money. Obama added 8.6 trillion of today's money. Under Clinton, the last time we supposedly had a balanced budget, he added 2 trillion of today's money. Notably less than HW Bush or Regan.

I hate to use names, othewise it gets too political. I thought the last administration denied any large spending for the military, preffering social causes instead..

In a word, yes. I don’t have the figures but Obama added more debt than all the previous Presidents combined. And for the life of me, I don’t know what he spent it on.
