North Jersey it runs $180-$200 all hardwood mixed. Oak is very common around here. I paid $200 cord to my friend in the biz who uses a processor with a conveyor that dumps it right into the dumpster. I specified 3 cords oak, ash and maple split large (4"x4" to 7"x7") and that's what I got.

I sell firewood for $900.99/cord + tax. Firewood is my Maine heat source, around 7-8 cord a year for me, but this year I seam to be using it up faster, might have to dig some out of the snow bank in a few weeks, that ought to burn good. From what I've seen on YouTube, burning wood in a stove is a big waste of BTUs and a lot higher smoke emissions compared to wood gasification burners that's making some sort of gas, and it's been around since the 1940s.

A cut a little wood today. I had to quit because the weather got bad, high winds and snow.

Nice set up on the back of your tractor. Looking at your saws reminds me I hate their new tool less gas and oil caps. MS440 and a couple of others 250C have this sorry answer to a non problem.

Super crazy wind here too. I was marking my no-plant areas around home site and driveway getting ready for the planters to come and saw the wind blow down a big dead tree. Thankfully I wasn't anywhere near it (it was on property line) but I watched it go down.

Do you happen to have a picture of that work platform that shows how it is mounted on the three point hitch? Might be a good project for me.

I'd love to see a cite of the MCL governing this. I don't think this is true as both the DNR and Dept of Ag refer to face cords in their documents.

I like the flip up handle on the caps to let you get a grip, but I think the springy bayonet action is a pain in the butt sometimes. I really don't know why Stihl thought they needed to make something simple like a screw cap be more complex (really, the screw cap has been around for 100+ years and works fine, why mess with it). I like the caps on my Husky 562XP, which have the flip up handle but regular threads.

When I used to follow the Arboristsite forums, there would be heated debates about this. Some people really hate the Stihl flippy caps, some people have actual problems using them, some have no problems, and others love them. I kind of fall into the "no problems but don't see the point" camp.
