I tried a similar approach and dumped a load....I am not very good I guess. Went with IBC totes

If you have flat land the tall rack would work well. I would need lower center of gravity to not dump the rack. Not as good for drying but better for not re-stacking when dumped. So advantages of both, depending on your property.

So this is how I have mine cut, wanted to leave the top "rail" intact so as to not let the top splay out. Mine are mainly relegated to holding cooking wood at this time.

Were those 275 gallon totes? They look larger.

For the past 25+ years I picked mid October to be my time to get wood cut up and under cover, sort of like a traditional thingy by now and I cant go against tradition. It's based on how I hate cutting up firewood in a T-shirt, usually by October we finally get rid of that SC weather so I can start wearing flannel shirts again, them shirts make me look like an ole fashion Mainer aha, I think October is the best month of the whole year in New England..........

Well, I got all the rounds split that were in the back of my pu, so today I got started on this,

And it was nice that my wife showed up, to help me,

We just rolled some of the bigger ones onto the splitter, and shoved them through the 4-way,

I had other things to do today, so we got started late with the splitting, and then the wind and rain came! SO, what could I do ?, well I did the only thing I could do, I took my wife out for supper!! lol

Yes, according to the guy I got them from anyway..

They will vary in size and should have some markings on the plastic shell.
