Cleaning up the branches was probably the hard part goe. It's nice to have them lined up like that and out in the open !

Cleaning up the branches is ALWAYS the hard part!

Cut the stem just below the limbs, drag it perpendicular to the tree line and limb it there. Then it's easier to push them off with the bucket.

What about those of us without a front loader?

Rear blade, or some other 3pth implement. You could drag the tree into the woods and limb it there. Or continue to make the mess in your field and clean it up afterwards. There are myriad ways to handle , a tree in the field, I simply made one suggestion. What about somebody who doesn't even have a tractor?

Why bother owning a tractor?

I've been advised not to use cedar shavings as bedding for baby chicks
I had heard that also. so we bought pine down at Tractor Supply. Then switched to straw when they got older.

That's where you need a tractor mounted grapple! I cut down a few trees that just never grew right and I never touched a branch, just the firewood pieces. Used the grapple to rake the branches together, clamped onto them and dumped in the dump trailer to be hauled off.

I leave them in the woods to rot down and feed the "other" tree's growing there...

That's how nature provides!

I should have said hauled out of the yard, but the point was I never had to touch them by hand, so the processing of the actual "firewood" was still the hardest part, not the cleaning up of limbs.
