Tractor
Kubota B3200 w/ BH77 & 12", 18" & 24" buckets, Kubota B50 SSQA w/ 54" & 60" buckets, LandPride FDR1660, Artillian Fork frame, Extreme 3pt rake, Concrete Mixer, MyTractorTools grapple adapter
Lately I've been thinking of upgrading from my BX23 to something larger with more capability. I've been looking a little at the B3200 with backhoe and loader. Kubota now has the 5 year 0% financing - so that's helping to make this more enticing. But I'm wondering what my BX23 might be worth on a trade in. I would want to (if the dealer is interested) - trade in my entire BX23 package because if I got the B3200 I would get implements that went with that (larger) tractor.

I'm wondering if anybody here has an idea what that BX23 might be worth on a trade in - or potentially a private sale.

It's a 2004 BX23 - with 610 hours (current hours)
work lights in the rear
extra lights in front (shine under bucket when driving with bucket up - very useful)
has the higher amp alternator
has had the seat recall done
loaded ag tires
brighter bulbs in the headlights
new battery (last year)
extra 24" bucket for backhoe
toothbar on loader
thumb on the backhoe
2 extra front rims (tires have holes in them)

Going with the tractor:
5ft rear blade (Kioti - has tilt and adjust option)
quick hitch for 3 point
Woods 48" box blade

Any info appreciated. This is in the New England area (MA/NH border to be precise)

What we always tell guys interested in pricing their tractor for sale is simply this. Go to TractoHouse.com and match what you have with what is listed.

One caveat. The prices you will see are LIST prices. Wisdom dictates that no one actually pays list price. Deducting 10% will put you in the ballpark.

Not a thing wrong with wanting to move up. Trading in is fine, but realize the dealer needs to make a hefty profit from your old machine to pay for his time in storing it, tying up his money, and re-selling it. I'd not let the Zero of the Kubota "offer" rush me. They've had a version of that sales incentive for 4 or 5 years running. They aren't suddenly going to start charging Big Interest when the Prime Rate is in the sewer.

BTW, it isn't really zero anyhow. It's really 3%-4%, which is decent, but it is usually in lieu of a $700 cash deduction. So, take your time. Give it whirl on Craigs and see what you can do.

Thanks for the info. I checked out TractorHouse.com - only one BX23 listed. At least it gives me an idea of the price range.

I'll probably be taking a trip up to the dealer on Wed and I'll run it by them and see what they have to say. I can take that tractorhouse price and use it at least as a reference against whatever the dealer says he might give me.

BX23's (and 24's and 25's for that matter) seem to be sort of rare on the used market - at least around here. I don't know if that means used stuff would be in high demand or not.

Before I bought new, my research proved the resale value of these units
was incredibly high. I am sure it all comes down to condition, condition,
condition. I am gonna take a stab at it, retail as in you sell it yourself...

$13500.00

How much is the same thing w/ those implements new? $23,000.00?

I dunno, I am subbing in to see what you get for it and how simply because
I own a BX25 and want to see what's going on!

So you're thinking $13,500 with the implements - or without?

When I originally bought the BX23 I researched the resale value too. My tractor has 610 hours on it now - and it's been outside a bit so it's got some rust on it here and there. I checked on tractorhouse.com - and there was only one BX23 listed - with 988 hours and they wanted $11,500 for it.

If I could get $13-14k for it with the implements and all the other stuff I listed I would be more than happy.

I suggest you contact Barlows and tell them what you have and what you want and see how the'll trade you. That's what I do and have done 13-5=8 times.
Used Kubota Tractors
One other consideration, if yours is paid off and you don't want to take your equity back out of it now then the cash discount of $700 to $1000 is better than the 0% financing. If you want to take your equity in your tractor and use it to pay off other higher interest debt or just spend your money to get more out of life now the 0% is really an awesome deal.
Barlows also trades used to used and has the lower Kubota interest available on used Kubota Equipment they sale, like my F2680E 60" rear discharge deck if someone wants to buy it from them with only 92 hours on it.
Some people want to be debt free and that means more to them than having it now. I'm not one of those people. I want it now and will enjoy what I've worked for and means more to me than it will to my estate.:D As long as I can afford the payments I'm buying.
You can see for yourself that BX23 and implements you've splurged on and bought now still has considerable value and you've gotten many many hours of fun and work out of it. You could probably give it all away and still be ahead for what the work it has done would have cost you by paying someone else to do the work or the medical bills you would have had to pay for all the back surgeries you would have had by doing the work manually.
One other tip. Used implements don't bring much of their original cost back so keep any of the implements you already have that you can use or maybe trade your used for other used equipment that will fit your new machine and you've also now found out what implements are of any real value to you. I've bought a few that seemed like the greatest thing since sliced bread from other people on the forum telling how great they were/are and they may be for their purposes but were of little to no value to me and my projects/normal use. When you bundle your implements your not going to get as much as you'll get by trading them for another used implement you want or selling them individually to someone actually wanting them.

Barlows is in Kentucky - I'm in MA. I might be willing to deal with a dealer a state or two over but dealing with a dealer that far away is going to wipe out any savings I might have just in transportation costs bringing my tractor down there and another tractor back up here. Even if the deal was better than what I might get up here I'd still be stuck with a potential issue trying to get the tractor fixed around here.

I'm going to have to see what kind of deal my dealer is willing to throw me for my tractor and the implements. They might say they're only interested in the tractor - in which case I can go to Craigslist and try to sell the implements. It could be that they're going to give me a crappy trade-in on the BX23 - in that case I'll go to Craigslist to try and sell it. What I would like to do is move from the BX over to the whatever I get without it becoming another "project" where it takes me a couple of months of wheeling and dealing and going back and forth to get out of the BX.

The BX is paid off - I'd like to use the equity I have in that tractor to move into the other one. I could use the box blade and the rear blade I got for the BX with a larger tractor - but I think I would prefer to move up to implements sized for the larger tractor when I get it. I'm also not sure I even need a rear blade or a box blade any more for the work I see myself doing for the foreseeable future.

Barlow's delivers to MA and often for less, total, then what guys can price locally. They just haul your trade back with them. Just sayin'.

In any case, Barlow's is a good place to start, when doing the pricing and number crunching. You know you're getting a great price to use in comparing with local offers. For a few hundred dollars, I'd deal locally, but for a grand? I'm dealing with Brady in a heartbeat.

I'll give them a call and see what they can do. That will at least give me a price point to compare to. My biggest reservation about buying so far away - is the service. I've had to get a couple of warranty repairs done on the BX23 and my local dealer was very good to deal with. If we are talking about saving say $3000 - then I might start looking at Barlow. If we are talking $1000 - quite honestly I would probably eat the higher cost and know I can go to my dealer and expect them to support me.

I'm under no illusions that my dealer is going to be jumping thru hoops for me if I go buy a tractor somewhere else.
