Traffic Fines and Related Vehicle Code Infractions...

I would have moved long ago,but that is me.

I'm not that old and have seen dramatic changes... call the police because your home or car was burgled and the response is to go online to file a report.

Your out somewhere and your car window gets popped and it's your fault... kind of car you drive, where you parked, time of day... etc.

Mail theft is common and so are break ins... every business around where I work has been hit and some like the 7/11 at gun point... the banks, post offices, gas stations employees are all behind bullet proof gas at a minimum... one bank puts people coming in inside a vestibule where you can't go forward or back unless a teller releases the door...

An 80 year old Grandmother going to the hospital to visit her 8 year old Granddaughter is turned away because she doesn't have a photo ID yet her son is with her with a Driver's License.

When I went to jury duty I thought I was in the wrong line... getting scanned and frisked and forget about going to a Federal Building... it worse.

The neighbors on my street pooled together $1200 on 24 hours to set up a security system of cameras and most now pay for private security patrol...

The sad thing is all of the above is the new "Normal"

I know it's home for you, but it's way past time to pull the handle and get out. I live in a small town in central NH; no carjackings, no armed robbery, virtually no burglary, some of the lowest crime rates in the nation, no state income taxes. Sure, the weather sucks in the winter, but you can adjust. I spent a few years at Travis AFB in the early nineties; I had no idea it had since gotten so bad in the bay area.

I'm tied down taking care of Mom... she still does ok but Alzheimer's is catching up plus some business property and work.

Taking her away from everything she knows would be devastating at this point... I bought a home next door and later another not too far away...

The plan is to settle in Olympia WA although my friends in Washington State have had plenty of issues too. Mostly druggies breaking and entering when everyone is at work.

The street where we live in Oakland has the best neighbors... so this is a huge plus... everyone has always looked out for one another and they look out for Mom...

Even so the topic is crime... the Police Chief did a local town hall to standing room only at a nearby church... it was sobering to say the least... especially when he said they simply don't have the resources to respond to every call for service... so unless it is a crime in progress, involves minors or guns... we are pretty much on our own.

Chief said officers are so busy with priority calls that they seldom do traffic stops anymore... criminals must know this because I've seen all manor for driving... especially the sideshows.
