I have had one for two years now. It's just about the neatest toy I have ever owned. I planted a food plot this spring. Today I put new batteries in the trail camera and placed it overlooking the food plot. I have two memory chips. I just take the ATV out and switch the chips. Then I plug the chip in to my computer Saturday evenings and look at the pictures while enjoying an adult beverage. It's amazing what is creeping about in the woods when one is sound asleep.

Which trail camera did you get and why? I've seen some ads recently for these cameras for $100 and under, but don't know what to look for in one.

I'd like to know what eats the left over watermelon pieces we toss in the woods.

Gotta agree with you. I love my Stealth Cam, game camera. I do just like you. I go out there on Saturday with a chip, take out the one in the camera and put in the blank one. Then that evening, I enjoy looking at the pics and seeing what's been going on here.

My camera is 12 volt, and I have it wired to a solar cell and rechargable battery. It's the same battery to runs my feeder, which is where the camera is taking pictures of.

I have tried a couple. Sent them back I did. The bad ones sometimes trigger and sometimes not. The sensing trigger and trigger speed is the secret. You can tell. And the bad ones I sent back were high dollar cameras. I have a Leaf River DC- 6SS. It's expensive but is so full of options, ease of use, and quality of picture it was well worth the price. You want plug and play on the high priced cameras. Switch a chip and come home. I was in on a hunting lease for a few years. Members had cameras of their own. Cuddeback No Flash and Moultrie. The Leaf River has far better pictures.

I have never had any luck with any product that has "Moultrie" on it, always seems to be a quality issue for me.

They are an pretty neat toy. I put mine out yesterday afternoon but wasn't able to check it today. Had to work on the wife's horse trailer all day. We were out on the back porch tonight and heard foxes barking in the vicinity of the game cam. Maybe have some fox pictures tomorrow. When we moved to the country here I set the game camera up in our horse barn for a couple of nights. I though this barn pretty tight. Raccoons and skunks running everywhere in this barn. It's amazing what's creeping around when one goes to bed at night.

Oh great. Now I hear about Moultrie not being so good. Well, mine works pretty good but now I'll be paranoid. It has taken thousands of excellent photos of danged squirrels

I was on a budget though so I did not have the highest expectations. I'd love one of those $300 or $400 cams.

I paid $99 for my camera. I've had a few different brands, and like the Stealth Cam the best. The IR models are more money, don't have a visable flash, but the night time pics are black and white. Mine has a super strong flash that is rated out to 90ft, doesn't seem to bother the animals any, and it takes good pictures. But like I mentioned already, being 12 volts over the standard 6volts, like most of them, was also very important to me so I can use the same battery and solar cell to run the camera and my deer feeder.

I've been very pleased with my Moultrie I40. Long battery life, even in sub-zero temperatures, clear images. Eddie's right about the IR night-time photos being black and white. I don't have mine aimed at a feeder, and have found that the mounting location has a lot to do with picture quality and eliminating "nuisance" shots. For example, the closer to the ground the better, camera and aim point not in direct sunlight, and minimal site disturbance.

Great picture. Congrats on having so many bucks on your land. In a few years, there should be some real shooters!!!

I've been thinking about building a feed station like you have, but keep putting it off to do other things. Seeing your picture has me thinking I need to work on my priorities and build one right away. What are you feeding the deer? The sure do seem to like it.

Seriously, it's a deer feed Deermaster Antler Mix??? That may not be the right name, but it smells like horse sweet feed. I can't take credit for the bucks either. It is from a friends place just down the road, but yes they are nice!

I just got this one, Trailcampro - Bushnell Trophy Cam 5.0 Mpxl Infrared Trail Camera
It works at night with the infra red flash, which shows just a red glow when it goes off. Its really good in the day time and can last for many months on its batteries, one of the most popular right now. Its super tiny too.

I don't have many pictures yet, but there a few night time ones here if you want to look, should be updated if I get more. I'm going to move it down into the woods, right now its on an apple tree. I want to see the local cougar.

Nice pictures, very clear. I think I saw that camera advertised in the NRA magazine? I was hoping to hear from someone who tried it. Practically fits in your shirt pocket, price was a little higher than most.

I just got a trail cam and here's a few from my first day, (really night), on Sept 12th...the time is accurate...notice how as sunrise comes along the pics get lighter, (but still in the IR mode). The camera took a lot more, but these are a taste...I'm hooked now! SCDolphin helped with figuring out the best programming, and I am thankful for his advise. Now...he needs to post a few from his place!
