Trailer Deck Protection Sikkens or Diesel/oil mix?

Try and keep this story short. In 2000 worked on old cruise ship with yellow pine decks. Capt. wanted to put down Sikkens on the decks something like 33,000 square feet. It was a long project and there was one deck we did not get. Company went under after 9/11, and the ship ended up in Suison Bay, then became property of another company I worked for. In 04 got to go aboard and look at the ole girl. The decks with the sikkens were still in fairly good shape with maybe a good cleaning needed. The sun deck which we never got to was rotten with weeds growing all over it. That sold me on the sikkens, just glad it wasn't my money to do all those decks I think we were paying around 56 a gallon?

Used Diesel Oil, rolled on lightly, wood soaks in not really slippery when wet, cheap and long lasting. Used diesel is best, better than all other mixes I've tried.

How exactly are you getting "Used Diesel Oil" into a container for subsequent application to a wood surface?

"Used diesel" is not the term you are looking for here.

Your right, meant used motor oil from a diesel engine, coffee had not kicked in yet. The used diesel oil is covering the trailer in soot.

When I built my hydraulic 20' tilt bed trailer for my hobby, demolition derby, I decked it with 2-1/4" thick x 14" wide Russian Blue Spruce planks that a builder was selling, leftover from a large rustic cabin type of building I guess. I have coated them with straight drain oil every fall before the snow sits on it. Built it in 06, and have no rot to speak of. Slippery for about 2 weeks after coating. Best part, I bought 20 of the boards- $25.00 EACH. pretty good deal, Should have enough to deck it again in 15 years.
