Hello all,

Looking at trailers again. I was wondering what might be the smallest trailer that would be recommended to haul a B2630 (or any B series) with FEL and possibly a rear implement such as a blade. I understand I should definitely have a tandem axle with electric brakes. I have been looking at 16 foot landscape trailers, but I'd really like to go a bit smaller maybe 14 foot. Not sure how the tractor would fit with weight distribution concerns, rear implement etc. Anyhow looking for recommendations and pictures of your trailers (loaded) if possible. I won't be doing too much hauling maybe once or twice a month at most - 10 to 15 miles each way so I'm looking for the least expensive that I can get, and still be safe.

Thanks in advance guys !

Dave

I actually bought the trailer before the tractor and hauled my little JD garden tractor on it for a while but we knew we were going to be getting a bigger tractor to maintain our other property. I started out thinking a 12', maybe 14'. I ended up with a 16' and wouldn't mind a 18'. Mine is a tandem axle with beaver tail. If I have the B2920 with FEL on it and a box blade or rear blade it is fine. If I have the rotary mower on it with FEL, the tail wheel on the mower is off the back and the 18' would allow me to center the load a little better over the axles. I have electric brakes on both axles although brakes on only one axle would probably be sufficient. If I forget to turn the brake controller on before I start down the driveway, I really notice it pushing me at the end of the drive.

Being able to move it (at least a little by hand) to hook-up, etc. is only thing I miss about our 6.5' x 12' single-axle trailer. Having moved up to 6.5' x 16' dual axle w/elec. brakes I have more room for items, plus not having to tote some stuff in the truck bed. Seems like for most folks too small is more often the issue rather than too large IMHO.

I dont think its a weight distrubution will be an issue, its which way you load it. are you rears loaded ? a 14' have less room to balance, where as the 16 ' is easier, more forgiving. think of the possibilities in the future. suppose you need to pick up some lumber for your deck and its a 16 '? a 14' will work fine, but the end will stick out like sore thumb. or need to pick up stones and the loader is a 14' wide? he can balance the load better in 16 ft trailer then a 14 will.

I trailer my B2630 on a 16-Foot trailer. With backhoe it just fits, with Box blade fits nicely. Tractor and FEL on a 14 foot? Would fit, may be tight for weight distribution.

My vote is for 16' double axle and double axle brakes. I have a 14' double axle with brakes on each axle for a 2920tlb and it handles load fine, I already had trailer, but the extra two feet is the way to go IMO for improved weight distribution and convenience. Also, convenient ramp set-up would be a big plus.

Well, 16 foot w/ brakes seems to be the general concencus. Now does anyone know where I can pick a new one of these up for $1500 (current trailer budget). :D I've gotten a few prices fairly close to that, but the dealers have been to far away so far.

I will give another vote for 18'. I bought a B2620 last year, and have been hauling it with my 12' trailer (it's not easy.) I am taking delivery on a new 18' trailer soon. I measured the tractor with my implements before I ordered it. The tractor and FEL with RFM, or landscape rake,or blade all fit easily, and I have wiggle room to balance. The rotary cutter just fits, but I am willing to let the tail wheel extend 1-2' if I need to balance the load.
