Trailer for PTO generator

I was at the Northern tool web site looking at the 13000 watt PTO generator and noticed they have a trailer for PTO generators.

$ 540 seems high for a dedicated trailer. Any thoughts here? Home Depot or Lowes sell something similar?...read that as cheaper.

Have you considered going to an auto wreckers and getting an axle out of a chrysler K car, they make good axles for that kind of use.[ rear one]

I think the cheapest way to go would be to mount the generator on a KK carryall. The carryall is anywhere between $75 and $95. All you need is an old pallet to bolt to it and a PTO shaft of the right length. Should be a lot cheaper than $550.

Put castors under the carryall or use a quick hitch to make it easy to put on and to take off.

I agree with ralph.. My northern pto gen is happily mounted to a pallet on a carryall type carrier. Was a cheap 49$ one I bought from TSC 5 years ago. I keep it in one bay of my garage for use ont he farm as needed.

Carryalls now are $76 at TSC (at end of summer) and $95 at Agri-Supply. Price in Orscheln catalog was a bit cheaper, but they said the catalog prices are out of date.

Even the highest is cheaper than a trailer. Think a PTO shaft is less than $100, particularly the ones at Orscheln.
