What kind of jack do y’all carry in case of a trailer flat? I have always been told not to use a floor jack on soft ground. Just got a gooseneck and was thinking about getting a jack.

I would just use the one that your truck has. I also carry a 4X8 block of wood to put under the tires if needed. (works for me) you can pull the good tire up on the block and remove the flat. Your block size may vary

I carry a small 2 ton HF floor jack and a 2x6x26" to set the jack on. I don't have a gooseneck but have a 7K enclosed trlr, 14K dump trlr, 14K tilt bed and an 11K camper trlr.

Deck over frames are so tall but bottle jacks are simple and well built for these purposes.

Two stage bottle jack and a bunch short pieces of 2x10 or 12,
it seems like every couple of years I end up buying a couple of 2x10 or 12's just to cut up into 1 or 2 ft pieces.

I carry a bottle jack, small floor jack and a handyman jack. I also carry several 2x8's so I can stack them on a taper and drive the good tire on them.

I use a scissors jack that I robbed out of my old Caprice, along with some scrap boards from around the BSM... I probably should throw a bottle jack in it though, cuz I doubt that a scissors jack would lift a loaded trailer.

I guess I could drive the tractor off the trailer and use the loader to pick the trailer up! lol

I think I will shop for a new bottle jack, and definitely cut some boards. I was just asking around in case something new was out there.

I had a flat (actually the whole tread flew off) on my dump trailer about 6 weeks ago. Long story, but overloaded with gravel, tires 7 years old, had to go home for a jack, soft ground, 42 bites from fire ants and had to beat the fender back into place with a 18" cresent wrench. My next load of gravel will be delivered.

my truck scissor works fine on my axles on the trailer. don't forget to have the correct socket and a bar for the lugs. the lug size probably does not match the truck. i have an ammo can mounted on the trailer to keep a socket and breaker bar, a few straps, lock, wheel chocks in. i can use the wheel chocks to on the 2nd axle to help out lifting also. I also carry a plug kit and a 12v air compressor. had to plug a trailer tire just a few days ago that picked up a screw, nice to just do it in about 10 min. and move on, vs having to take it some where.

I carry a bottle jack with a built in jack stand that has a very wide base for soft ground along with a couple of 4x4 and 6x6 scabs just in case. I also carry a Dewalt 20v Impact and a series of impact sockets. Got stranded without this stuff with my travel trailer and had to use my truck jack and a 4 way--Never again.

I also have a Ryobi mini cordless tank compressor with me..Overkill, maybe but get stranded once and this is what happens. To me anyway.

Absolutely not overkill, the Halo goes with us anytime on vacation, with boat and/or RV.
Pulled up to campsite just recently bam dead battery.
Hand tools, jacks, Halo etc always goes with us.
Jumped the truck like 4 times with it, changed the battery after vacation..

Forgot about the Halo...Those things are fantastic. I was really surprised when I tied it out jump starting the neighbor's truck, never thought that little thing would have that much power.

One of these has worked well for me more than once. I carry one in the 7x18 enclosed trailer that contains my seamless gutter business.
I make sure it goes into my motorcycle hauler trailer before the annual vacation also. It sure saved a lot of time changing a flat along I95 in S. Carolina one time. Like timswi's post above, I also keep a DeWalt 20V impact gun & sockets in the truck to save time and aggravation.
