I'm welding ramps for the deck over trailer I just bought 2 weeks ago. Picked up 3 20' pieces of 3" c-channel, a 4'x8' sheet of raised expanded metal, and a 10' 2" round bar. The trailer already had 3 metal eyes for the round bar to mount in.

You should think about welding a leg onto the ramps. Looking good.

Unsure of your plans but I would suggest that you have feet on the trailer end of those ramps to prevent the trailer from tipping while loading and unloading. Much less strain on the trailer and truck, much easier to load the tractor without problems. Parking brakes on your truck don't work well in the air.

Agree on the legs for the ramps; am thinking on building a set this year to help. The standard ramps are bending slightly and it would help support on the load.

Another full days work on the ramps, I had planned on using legs for support when loading. There was an existing cracked weld where the dove tail meets the flat deck that I rewelded today. Guessing it happened when they used portable ramps without legs.

All thats left to do is a coat of black paint. Daylight savings sucks. Just not enough light lately.

Really Great work. I also hate when it gets dark earlier. I wish it would stay daylight longer.

Finished them off with a coat of black rustoleum and finally got to test them out.

I built the ramps almost a year ago, but today I welded additional supports on the ramp legs and trimmed original support leg length by 1 1/2" they were too long and rubbed the ground when unfolding them. Then I tested them out.
