Have a 2014 Mahindra 5010, a 50-hp tractor with FEL and bushhog. How big a bumper pull trailer do you think is needed? Could remove the bushhog, but leaving it hooked up, what's needed such that it isn't a big hassle to load? Prefer this to be a utility type trailer such that it could carry firewood or a UTV and ATV.

You'll need at least a 20ft trailer and part of the bush hog will likely hang off the back.

How long is the whole set-up? This should be thought out in advance for what length you need and how many times you are actually going to need to use the full length.

My 35hp CK3510 w/grapple and 6' bush hog is real close to 20', so a 22' trailer would work best so I can adjust the balance a bit. But I don't have need to be hauling it in that configuration more than 1-2 times a year, if that, so I have a 20' and would have had a 18' if they were actually cheaper at the time. That makes it harder to load in the long configuration but backing onto the trailer if needed is a choice, as well as loading the BH then resting the loader/grapple on it.

Here’s my TC45DA with it’s loader and my flail mower on a 18’ trailer (16‘ flat & 2’ dovetail).

I would NOT go less than 22’ if I was b another trailer.

You can see I have very limit options to balance the load. Also my flail mower on extends back about 4’ (maybe less than that) a bush hog is much longer.

DieselScout has a very important point. With a BP trailer you will need to balance the load. Too light in front of the axles will be unstable. You need the length in relation to the load.

I bought a 22 ft one and glad I did. Used to have a 20 ft but upgraded. The extra 2 ft really makes a difference. I have a smaller utility trailer to carry around the lawn mower and 4wheeler.

Also, I bought a Diamond C because they had the best built design tool box design when I was buying.

According to the specs, it is a fairly light tractor.

ROPS Operating weight: 3836 lbs (1740 kg)
Cab Operating weight: 4078 lbs (1849 kg)

Length: 134 inches (340 cm) (11 ft 2")
Width: 71.5 inches (181 cm) (just under 6')

You'll have to add the size of the brush hog and the bucket. You should be able to take the measurements.

If you add 1000 lbs for the bucket, and 1000 lbs for the brush hog, you're still under 7,000 lbs.

No need to get a monster equipment trailer.

I've been generally satisfied with my 10K utility flatbed. I am worrying about the weight a bit when loading it, but bumping up to a 14K trailer would impact my tow weight, and probably also impact my taxes. And, even the tow vehicle.

Mine has about a 7x18'2" bed. (That 2" is important).

I don't remember hauling my tractor and brush hog, but I've hauled a lot of stuff on it. If needed, I'd disconnect the brush hog, and load it under the bucket.

I'm quick to throw on a red flag if needed, but I don't think I've flagged my tractor.

Edit:
Part of your decision will be whether you're purchasing new or used. Or, perhaps even built to spec.

On the used market, you'll have to have some kind of a minimum standard, but may make do a bit.

Nice trailer. It looks mighty heavy.

I was going to say that I periodically overhang the tongue with my load a bit. So, I like that concept of a toolbox flat with the top of the bed. If it was me, I'd flip the rim around the box downward rather than upward, allowing a flat bed extension.

I think Diamond C also has an option for a pop-up winch. It would be a sweet option.
