John, Thank you for that info. I'll check on updating the existing elect brakes (they are on the front axle only) and if they are too extensive (since I flipped the axles) I guess I could install a fresh set on the REAR axle and leave the front axle disconnected?? Is there a reason that the orig brakes are front axle only? I guess maybe the weight pitches forward....:confused2: What does the controller thing need to work? power in and......then just a line to the brakes? How do it know when to apply....is it also connected to your brake pedal or brake lights or or or?

You should post in trailer and transportation sub forum. That's where the trailer jockeys hang out... Diamondpilot knows this stuff cold, for one.
