John, Thank you for that info. I'll check on updating the existing elect brakes (they are on the front axle only) and if they are too extensive (since I flipped the axles) I guess I could install a fresh set on the REAR axle and leave the front axle disconnected?? Is there a reason that the orig brakes are front axle only? I guess maybe the weight pitches forward....:confused2: What does the controller thing need to work? power in and......then just a line to the brakes? How do it know when to apply....is it also connected to your brake pedal or brake lights or or or?:confused:

You should post in trailer and transportation sub forum. That's where the trailer jockeys hang out... Diamondpilot knows this stuff cold, for one.
