Trailer tire tread decided to unzip on me

LT tires in a 235/80R16 just don't have the load rating needed for a 7K lb axle. Ended up buying Sailun G rated 14 ply all steel tires.

Most tires have a combination of steel and nylon cords in the tires. There are no nylon cords in these tires. Now if that is better or not I have no idea

a number of years ago, we were coming home on the interstate, and started to get off and a trailer passed us, (in the short distant I tried to flag the guy down but did not have time to on the ramp off), but all that was left of his tire was the side walls,

after the original tires went bye bye, we have just ran light truck tires, most of the time, they were take offs of the truck that was pulling it since the trailer got used so little in comparison of the truck it self,

Those look like Mission tires. I had 4 Mission tires fail on me. I now have the new Carlisle Radial Trail HD's and will be heading out loaded up on Saturday. We'll see how these hold up.

Had a good trip towed the rig at 70 MPH max or the lesser speed limit. Can't complain about the Carlisles. Historically I agree with some of the posters here and stayed away from the Carlisles in the past. This new tire seems to be getting good reviews. Time will tell. I carry two balanced spares as well just in case. The LT tires are not rated to carry the load as others have said. I had LT tires on my 4 horse gooseneck but it was only a 12K rated trailer.
