Trailer Tires

So I have a question re; size. My fifth has 235/80/R16 and the Costco Greenball Towmaster Radial is 235/85/R16 @ $145 eac. Can I use the 85 series in place of the 80?
You can use them. The only difference is that they are 1 inch taller.

Isn't the 80 or 85 tread width?

80 or 85 is the aspect ratio. The tread width would be 235mm, and the measurement rim-to-tread is whatever % the aspect ratio is. In the case of 80, would be 188mm.

Yes, 100% correct.

Tires are measured in MM. So let's take a 285/65/18 like I have on my truck.

The 285 is the tread width in MM. The 65 is 65% of that 285 MM for sidewall height. And the 18 is 18" rims.

Unless of course we're dealing with english units such as a 35 10.50 r16, but I digress...:)

that tiny bit of increased diameter shouldn't be an issue if you replace all four tires at one.
Not sure I'd want to mix the sizes though.

Just to see if I'm getting this right...your 285/65/18 tires would then have a diameter just a hair under 828mm mounted(?).

To convert millimeters to inches, simply divide by 25.4.
