Paul, have you scaled the trailer and 110? I'm betting the gross of the trailer is 10-13k. The JD site list the weight of the 110 without the hoe at 7200 so I'm sure it's close to 8k. Then say 3k for the trailer and maybe 2k for the forks
and rake plus chains/binders etc. How often do you trailer it and how far? I'm looking at buying land about 3-5hrs away mostly interstate but some country rd. I'm wondering how happy I'll be hauling a 11o that far.

Well, figured I'd post. I hauled this for our local dealer. It's my brother's truck. Hauled it fine, but had to re-adjust load half way there; was getting trailer sway. Machine weighs a bit more than advertised; this one had the thumb and extra parts along with that. I guess around 12k w/ trailer weight? Still a good load!

What are you using to haul?

Same truck as your brothers only the 250 version. I have a big enough trailer but I like to bring along other toys and attachments. I really don't want to get a bigger trailer. Since my gooseneck weighs in at 4k and the wieght of the 110 I start to get close to CDL territory and weight restrictions.

It is pretty tough to get into CDL land with a F250.

That truck weights ~8k plus 4k for your trailer, that leaves 14k for payload.

That's a pretty dang good load and the trailer tires aren't even sagging. Nice setup with quality equipment all the way around!

The weights for my setup are probably similar to that of a 110. Without a cab the Midi is I think 8300 pounds. With the cab and an over size 4 in 1 bucket hrre are my weights on my 12000# trailer.

steers 3395#
drives 5709#
trailer 11904#

legal everywhere with the possible exception of the tongue weight. I have a 12000 pound equalizer and I don't use the bars, but with airbags at 70 pounds it sits level and pulls very nicely.

Not in CT, trailers over 10k need a CDL. The key is to make it seem your not doing it for profit and make sure all your equipment is up to snuff. The GVW of my trailer is 16k which would exceed the rear axle rating of the truck. Now I stay well below that but I'm not going to take any chances.

I believe this has been clarified. The regs use to say any vehicle towing a trailer over 10k. Now it looks like it's 10k and a gcvw of 26k. This issue was brought up to the local dot cops. They were clear as mud. I'm still not super keen on trailer that much weight that far. I'll be making monthly trips and leaving it there isn't an option.
