I have hauled our PT425 and one attached implement very nicely in the back of our full size pickup. We bought the ramps from PT and they work well. Just be sure to secure them to the truck before loading and remove the tailgate. That truck is no longer functioning(20 years and 150,000 mile + rust). We bought a car hauler trailer. It has dual axles and weighs 1500 pounds. It has a load rating of 7000 pounds, so if we subtract the 1500 pounds of the trailer itself, we have a usable load of 5500 pounds. It works quite nicely behind our full sized van. The trailer is steel. I don't know how much less a trailer made of aluminum would weigh, but that would increase your usable load a bit, I would think.

Here's some pictures of the trailer.

Unloaded.

All loaded up and ready to go. 60" finish mower attached to PT. 48" brush hog. Large light material bucket with small heavy duty tooth bucket nested inside.I could have slipped the pallet forks under the brush hog, too. There's still about 3 feet of room behind the PT! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I purchased a single axle (4000 lb truck axle) low trailer that was home made to haul a race car. It came with ramps, lights, but no brakes. It is 16 feet long (bed) and I pull it with my S10. I had to move the ramp attach plate holes to accomodate the width of a 425 but that was all. I haul the 425, two attachments (rest are in the bed of the S10 for project needed). When loading the 425, I drive it forward until the hitch lowers to a neutral position on the S10 or a little forward of the datum line.
The trailer pulls very easy, I use it for short distances for the most part. It cost only $900 dollars.

Nice trailer Moss. Is that the first time we have seen it? I guess you use the PT ramps to put the tractor on the trailer. does it roll back or have its own ramps?

We bought that about three years ago. It has its own ramps that store underneath. The PT ramps are in the garage and will be used for the occasional family projects, lawn tractor hauling in my in-law's pickup, etc...

Brand name is Better Built. Length is 18'. It was about $2000.00 three years ago. There are better deals out there.

Since we bought it, I added some low wooden sides to the front half and a plastic toolbox. I will have to take some pictures of it and show.

Just to give an indication of costs.... I bought my 14' Hawkline trailer a little over a year ago, with these options:

1. Spare tire & mount, which cost about $100 more
2. Set-back jack so that it doesn't interfere with tailgate of my PU, which cost $25 more
3. Custom paint color (Kubota orange instead of red or black) which cost $25 more
4. Easy-lube axles (which pumps the grease between the inner and outer wheel bearings) which cost $70 more

All total, it came to $1525 plus tax... It came standard with electric brakes on one axle. I did not buy it from the place linked above -- that's just the best picture I could find quickly on the 'net.

Here's my actual trailer, shown last year with the load I hauled back from Minnesota:

I'd taken the ramps/tailgates off, put them on the bed, and loaded tractors on top of them, to cut down on the wind resistance on this 1350 mile run...
